SIXTEEN DAYS UNTIL SUMMER STARTS SLAMMIN’

The ultimate celebration of bikinis, boards and beers is just over three weeks away.

Organizers of the Coors Light Silver Summer Throwdown are in full preparation mode for the Coors Light Silver Slam After-Party — the sickest, slickest, slammingest night of the summer — taking place on Aug. 19 at Portage la Prairie’s Canad Inns Ice Shed.

Silver Slam goes down right smack in the middle of Throwdown, Manitoba’s premier three-day wakeboarding, skateboarding, SMX event hitting Portage’s Island Park from Aug. wake-20.

“This party is probably the most fun anyone will ever have in Manitoba this summer,” says Throwdown organizer Dan Martin. “Cold beverages, loud tunes, wake videos and a big crowd geared up in summer attire cannot add up to anything other than crazy times.”

In addition to the hot spinning of Mood Ruff’s DJ ICQRI and the sick steps of Dangerous Goods — Canada’s No. 1 breakdance crew — the Coors Light Bikini Contest Final will take place on the Silver Slam catwalk.

Presented by HOT 103, and hosted by none other than Winnipeg’s favorite morning personality - Ace Burpee, the contest will showcase Manitoba’s hottest bodies strutting their stuff and vying for bikini supremacy and $1003 in cold, hard cash.

“DJ ICQRI live on stage with Dangerous Goods. Combine that with the hottest bikinis in the province and the hottest night of the year… This will be quite the attraction,” says Martin, who also has a giant hot tub-fuelled pre-party in the works for Aug. wake at Portage’s Sociables Night Club.
