MOORESTOWN SCORES "BIG AIR" WITH INTRODUCTION OF VANS
SKATEPARK
(April XX, 2001) - Vans, the Worldwide Brand for Core SportsT, announced
today that it will open its seventh skatepark, located at Moorestown Mall
in Moorestown, New Jersey.
The 37,000+ sq. ft. skatepark, located at 400 Route 38, will open its
doors to the public on Saturday, April 28. On the grand opening day several
of Vans' top skaters, including Steve Caballero, Willy Santos, Max Dufour,
Karma Tsocheff, Scott Bourne, Ray Barbee, Pierre Luc Gagnon, Tony Alva,
Mike Frazier, as well as local skaters Tom Boyle and Darren Menditto will
be on hand for demonstrations, photo opportunities, autographs and interviews.
A private VIP party will be held the night before to unveil the park
to city officials, pro skaters and media. The Moorestown Vans Skatepark's
design and construction were a collaborative effort between Percy Cheng
and Steven Ruth of Perkowitz & Ruth Architects, Rick Carje of RCMC, Haskell
Constructors, Dave Duncan of Dave Duncan Designs and Jack Murphy of Murphy
Production. In addition, several pro skaters served as consultants to
help create a skatepark specifically tailored to the needs of riders of
all skill levels.
The skatepark's features range from popular staples to the innovative
and unique.
They include:
� A lounge area that includes kiosks with Internet connection to the Vans
web site,
televisions that will air Vans Triple CrownT Series footage,
a Sports Wall dedicated to Vans Triple CrownT Series events,
an arcade and a party room.
