Vans New Jersey Skatepark Page 2

A competition-size vert ramp, A 6,200 sq. ft. indoor cement street course that has a real downtown street feel with planters, fire hydrants, streetlights, hips, gaps, ledges, stairs, wall rides and brick pavers
A wood street course designed for beginner to advanced skaters featuring ramps surfaced in Finland Birch The Vans Skatepark will include a retail component complete with a Vans retail store that carries Vans' skate, BMX and snowboard footwear and apparel as well as a complete pro shop that sells skate, BMX and snowboard hard goods and accessories from various companies in the industry.

The skatepark will also include a Spectrum video game area and a viewing area for spectators. "Vans is proud to become a part of the Moorestown community," commented Neal Lyons, Vans' president of retail. "The skatepark offers a win-win situation for both the parents and kids that skate. Parents can feel good about dropping their kids off at our skateparks while they shop because our parks provide a regulated, safe environment and the kids can have fun and do what they enjoy.

Safety of our patrons is first and foremost, and we have an outstanding safety record." Vans has also developed several programs to reach out to the community and encourage kids to participate in safe after-school activities, such as skate clinics. Vans encourages local schools to get involved in the after-school activity crusade by offering discounted session prices with school club memberships.

Vans also rewards scholastic achievement by offering $1 off session prices for every "A" on a report card. Moorestown Mayor, Howard Miller, welcomed Vans as a new member of the community. "We are pleased that Vans decided to build their first indoor skatepark in the northeast at the Moorestown Mall. We have a vibrant youth population that should greatly enjoy the park. However, our kids aren't the only ones who will make good use of this space. We expect that parents, prospective skatepark employees and the Moorestown Mall shops will also benefit from the new addition."
