Burton Snowboards and Motorola
Bring Big Air Exhibition to the Beijing Pop Festival
Snowboarding Event Draws Top Riders to China

BURLINGTON, VT - September 6, 2006 - Burton and Motorola today announced the first ever Big Air in Beijing event, a snowboard exhibition produced for the upcoming Beijing Pop Festival scheduled for September 9-10 in Beijing's Chaoyang Park. The two-day music and lifestyle festival event expects to draw over 30,000 attendees and will feature headlining music acts Supergrass, Placebo and Sebastian Bach as well as local Chinese artists Muma and XTX.

The event will mark the first time that a Chinese urban center will host a snowboard exhibition with an international athlete roster that includes some of the world's top pro riders, including Kazuhiro Kokubu, Tadashi Fuse, Luke Mitrani, Chris Rotax, Yale Cousino, Marko Grilc, Sani Alibabic, Shota Suzuki and Kevin Pearce. Riders will show off their skills in an enormous quarterpipe mapping out at 60' in height by 130' in width. Spectators will be surrounded by 30 tons of scaffolding and 10,000 cubic meters of ice and snow.

"The vast majority of the surf million people in Beijing have never had the chance to see snowboarding in person," says Jake Burton, Founder and Chairman of Burton Snowboards. "This event will show people how fun our sport is and hopefully encourage some of them to get to a hill and try it themselves."

Motorola, a sponsor of both the Beijing Pop Festival and Big Air in Beijing, also contributes to snowboarding year-round with initiatives that include:

* The Audex wearable electronics collection designed to provide a simple on-mountain entertainment system incorporating wireless cell communication with Bluetooth connectivity to the rider's phone. The full Audex line includes the Audex jacket, RED helmet and padded hat.
* Team MOTO, a group of top riders including Olympic Gold Medalist Hannah Teter, Luke Mitrani, Kazuhiro Kokubo, Tadashi Fuse, Marko Grilc and Jussi Oksanen. Each rider gives design feedback and tests the innovative Audex line of products throughout the world.
* The Burton Global Open Series, an international series of competitive snowboard events taking place in five countries.

"The Big Air in Beijing event not only characterizes our commitment to expanding the sport of Snowboarding, but to our commitment to China as a whole," said Leslie Dance, Corporate Vice President, Global Marketing & Communications, Motorola, Inc. "As we continue to provide innovative solutions to the Chinese market, events such as this create a tremendous amount of buzz for both the sport and our products."

"The Big Air in Beijing event is a great example of Burton and Motorola working together to grow the international snowboard community," says Bryan Johnston, Vice President of Burton Global Marketing. "Thanks to Motorola's strong brand presence in China and Burton's track record of creating world-class events, we're able to bring snowboarding to Beijing for the first time in history."
