"What I like about the Carveboard and couldn't believe,
was the amazing similarity to snowboarding. When I stuck my feet in the
same position as my bindings and kept them that way, it was the same mechanics
as if I was riding my snowboard. It really brought attention to the muscles
that strain when snowboarding, especially when your tired.
I could feel those muscles and it allowed me to target them
and experiment with different pressures and weight placements and find
the right balance between stress and comfort. For me I was able to simulate
the flat spots on the mountain, like when I am not on a rail and at my
weakest, unsure of where to rest my weight, the carveboard provided me
with the ability to over and over again work through that experience and
train my legs and body to become accustomed to that scenario and adjust
accordingly. The carveboard in my mind is the best all around surf and
snowboard trainer I have found." DO2
The carveboard is not a skateboard and we learned that
quickly. "The first push I tried I hit the back tire and went flying.
After a few turns I was stoked that it wasn't a skateboard, because the
carveboard does things a skateboard can't do." We still like skating
alot, but what's best about the carveboard and makes it so unique is that
it provides the surfer and snowboarder the ability to surf or board with
out waves or snow. "I think we found a new lunch time ritual,"
says the boss.
In a nutshell the carveboard with its spring
loaded trucks, airfilled tires and flex deck, (which you can customize
to your own weight by the various layers of ply) really is an unbelievable
way to keep your boarding skills fine tuned. It allows the boarder to
recreate the same basic moves over and over again and adjust with out
paddling out or hopping on a chairlift. Its an excellent off season training
device but more than that, it delivers the same feelings and emotions
as laying your rail into a full roundhouse section or dragging your fingers
through a soul arch bottom turn in the fresh...we recommend the carve
board to all boarding enthusiasts.
